Description

This recipe is for sweet gooey flapjacks that are allergy friendly

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup vegan butter (melted)
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
  1. preheat oven to gas mark 4 / 180 c

  2. Add oats, brown sugar and golden syrup to a large bowl

  3. melt the butter, then pour into mixture

  4. mix until all ingredients are combined

  5. pour mixture into a 8x8 square cake tin lined with baking paper. Press the mixture into the tin. For this I lay another piece of baking paper in top of the mixture then use another cake tin to push the mixture down to make sure it is properly compressed.

  6. Put in the oven and bake for 20 minutes

  7. Remove from oven when oats start to brown around the edges and leave to cool

  8. Once fully cooled cut into square and enjoy

Note

To make gluten free make sure to use gluten free oats and your preferred milk alternative.

It is important to make sure the flapjack is fully cool before cutting or they can crumble.

Store flapjacks in an air tight container and they will keep for a few days.

My children have multiple allergies from babies. There was a long list of things they couldn't eat with out being really poorly. I started by adapting known recipes, which lead to me experimenting and designing my own new ones! Now I share what I learned along the way in hopes of helping other families like us.
