Hot Cross Buns

Traditional Hot Cross Buns Recipe

Hot cross buns are a delightful Easter tradition, symbolizing the end of Lent. The cross on the top of the buns is said to represent the crucifixion of Jesus, making them a staple in many households during the Easter season. Because of their association with easter this was something my daughters school (it's a church school) decided they wanted the children to try so this prompted me to come up with a recipe that tasted just as good as the original but was free from all her allergens.

But forget all the religious stuff hot cross buns are just tasty to enjoy whenever you feel like it. Here's a my twist on the classic recipe to make your own hot cross buns at home.

My children have multiple allergies from babies. There was a long list of things they couldn't eat with out being really poorly. I started by adapting known recipes, which lead to me experimenting and designing my own new ones! Now I share what I learned along the way in hopes of helping other families like us.
