This recipe is for cakey and moist brownies. There is absolutely no dairy but still wonderfully chocolatey
These brownies are of the cakey variety rather than gooey.
I have found an important part of getting that nice chocolatey flavour is to use boiling hot water. This really brings out the flavour in the cocoa powder.
Equipment needed
- rectangular or square baking tin. I use a rectangular one
- mixing bowl
- whisk
- baking paper

Preheat over to gas mark 4/ 180°c

Combine the plain flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a large bowl.

Pour in the boiling water and whisk

Add the baking powder, vanilla extract, oat milk and sunflower oil to the mixture. Whisk until all ingredients are combined.

Fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips

Pour mixture into brownie baking pan and bake in the oven for 35 -40 minutes

leave to cool, then slice into squares and enjoy

Note
Make sure the water is piping hot as this helps bring out the flavour of the cocoa powder
